Yr 8 Gloves up in Science

Year 8 has been studying the cardiovascular system that pumps blood around our body. Of course, the heart is the main player, and our students were incredibly fortunate to have real lamb hearts available to dissect (for the less squeamish of them!).

Suddenly the terms “left and right ventricles”, “aorta” and “vena cava” make sense as students have literally seen (and felt!) them and understand how they work to pump blood around our bodies.

Thank you to Mrs Roscoe who ensures our students get this hands-on and inspiring experience at such an early stage in their learning journeys.
