Hockey teams gathered under stormy skies earlier this week at the Remuera Zone Interschool Hockey Competition.

Despite the occasional hail, Ficino School’s Year 5 & 6 rep team had several impressive wins against some top tier schools including Diocesan Girls, Meadowbank and Kings. These wins saw them progress to the Semi-Final against St Kentigerns A team who they beat convincingly with a  3 – 1 win.

This saw them proceed to the final against Kings A team. Though they beat them in the earlier draw, they could not secure the win. As Mrs Setters noted, our team was ‘small but mighty’ – an apt observation when we consider the size of our school versus the other competitors.
