In December, Lucas in Year 6 travelled to the Gold Coast to take part in the 27th International Robot Olympiad. This global STEM event brings together young innovators from around the world to compete in various robotics challenges.
This was Lucas’ first experience of taking part in an international competition, as just one of hundreds of students all required to perform under pressure. Nevertheless, it was an opportunity for him to challenge himself, improve his resilience and experience the importance of perseverance and teamwork. It was also a meaningful learning experience for Lucas to observe and learn from other people.
Following a number of challenging tasks, including a presentation and coding with Scratch, Lucas was awarded Silver, which is an outstanding achievement!
