Renaissance Trip

As part of their studies, Year 8 students participate in a three week trip to Italy and England.

This trip provides students with the opportunity to connect with the impressive works of the Renaissance and gain a sense of the great capacity of human beings. It is an awe-inspiring and heart-opening experience for all involved, and the children return with a maturity that builds on what they have developed during their time at Ficino School.

The three week trip incorporates the following cities and historic sights:

  • Rome: Vatican, Colosseum, Forum, Hadrian’s Villa
  • Florence: Orvieto Cathedral, Etruscan Caves, Siena Cathedral, Uffizi Gallery, Accademia, San Marco Convent, Santa Maria Novella
  • Oxford: Oxford Castle. University of Oxford colleges
  • Bath/Salisbury: Bath Abbey, Roman baths, Stonehenge
  • London: Westminster Abbey, Tower of London, Globe Theatre, St James Schools, St Paul’s Cathedral, British Museum
