Ficino School celebrated our winter sports players at assembly this morning! We’re well known for the strength of our hockey teams, and this season was no exception. Our netball and basketball teams also had a fantastic run, with wins and draws to be proud of.

Whether trying a sport for the first time or bringing years of experience to the court or field, we’re so proud of the sportsmanship, courage, and resilience shown by all our players. A huge thank you to our wonderful teachers, coaches, and parents who supported our players every step of the way — we couldn’t have done it without you!

Coaches congratulated all players for their effort, teamwork, and improvement throughout the season, and look forward to seeing them back on the field and court next year!

Our Year 1 and 2 students were celebrated for their enthusiastic participation in winter sports. Ficino School was proudly represented in hockey by the Pandas, Leopards, and Zebras, and in netball by the Smurfs.

Special recognition goes to the following award winners across all codes:

Most Improved Player – For outstanding growth in skill and confidence.
Sportsmanship Award – For consistently demonstrating fairness, respect, and team spirit.
Player of the Year – For exceptional performance, leadership, and dedication.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to all our coaches for their time, energy, and encouragement — and especially to Mrs Setters, whose tireless work and passion for sport continue to inspire our students and strengthen our teams.
