We invite you to take a tour of our school

Let’s support our Ficino School principal!

Mr Peter Crompton our School Principal is undertaking a huge personal challenge, walking the Te Araroa Trail, a 3,000 km tramping route stretching from Cape Reinga to Bluff. It is one of the world’s most diverse long-distance trails.

We would like to invite our school community to support Peter in his quest by raising funds for the building of our own Art Room.
Peter will provide us with updates and photos as he completes this walk – don’t forget to check in to see where he is at!

The Project

“Ficino School’s roll has been growing steadily over the last few years and our combined Science and Art Room is now at capacity. Our plan is to build a new modern dedicated Art space upstairs in the villa for which we have already had the architect’s plans drawn up. We’ve received planning consent and are awaiting building consent for our submitted plans. The project requires removing internal walls to provide a light and open space with windows on two sides.

This is an exciting development for our growing school and will enable children from more year levels to use the new facility, as well as providing a bespoke space for Fine Art with additional drying areas and storage. This will enhance our outstanding Arts programme for years to come.”

The Ficino Educational Foundation and Ficino School together have already committed $140,000 to this project, so we are on well on our way to our final goal of $210,000. We have received a quote from a builder who is ready to start in December this year.

Be Inspired

You may wish to make a one-off donation or pledge based on per kilometre walked by Mr Crompton. For example, a pledge of 10 cents per kilometre walked over 3,000 kilometres results in a donation of $300.
