AIMS Games
Mrs Setters and Mrs Clarke group of 12 intermediate children were recently taken to compete in the AIMS games event held at Tauranga. This event had over 11,500 competitors and 25 different sports. We entered a team into the mixed hockey grade. It was a real eye opener for the children to see so many other athletes and everyone enjoyed the experience.
This was the first time we have attended this event with a team and the children represented the school very well with their behaviour on and off the field. We came 42 out of 53 schools and hope to do better next time we get to attend.
Thank you to Manesh Patel for coaching the team and to Naomi Bicheno for helping organise the food.
We are very fortunate that almost half the costs were covered by a very generous donation from one of our parents who wishes to remain anonymous. The students, parents and teachers are very grateful for this additional support which helped to make the trip possible.
