Last week, our Year 3 class went on a trip to the Maritime Museum in Auckland. The children learned about Pacific migration of the Māori people to Aotearoa, their waka (boats) and the ways in which they navigated. The students also had the opportunity to sail on a vintage replica of a vessel that would have been used to transport cargo in the late 1800’s.
