Last week our Year 5 and 6 students were thrilled to attend the Kiwi Kapers performance by the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra at the Aotea Centre.

The concert centred on Edvard Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite, with the National Youth Theatre narrating and acting out the story as each piece was performed. The show included three original songs with a uniquely New Zealand twist, guided by Auckland Philharmonia’s Principal Timpanist, Steven Logan.

A highlight for many was hearing In the Hall of the Mountain King—one of the children’s favourite classical pieces—performed live!
