Message From The Principal

Self-discipline, communication & emotional intelligence

When you look at the skills employers really value, it’s clear they all come down to things like self-discipline, good communication, and focus. Teamwork, decision-making, and problem-solving all rely on these. So do things like gathering information, planning, staying organised, and knowing what to prioritise.

At Ficino School, we make sure our students get plenty of practice with these skills — and just as importantly, we help them grow their emotional intelligence (EQ) along the way.

Building Leadership Skills

We give our senior students lots of opportunities to step up — whether it’s through activities or leadership roles around the school. Taking on these responsibilities helps them build trust with their friends and classmates, and those skills stay with them long after they’ve moved on from Ficino.

Communication

Natural student leaders know how to make others feel included and empowered. They make their own ideas known and create a safe space for others input.

Honesty

Instilling trust in others is critical when it comes to collaborating.

Resilience

Developing resilience skills allows our students to make decisions based on the situation at hand – regardless of any obstacles in their path.

Hard work

Striving for wisdom and hard work is contagious and inspires others to do the same.

Confidence

Exhibiting self-confidence creates a sense of trust and inspiration that their team is going in the right direction.

At Ficino School, we believe every child has the potential to lead — not just by standing in front, but by lifting others up, staying true to their values, and facing challenges with courage. The skills they build here aren’t just for school; they’re for life. Our goal is to help them grow into thoughtful, confident individuals who step out into the world ready to make a difference — wherever their journey takes them.
