School Newsletter Week 8, Term 2, 2015

Mr Crompton is away in Australia for some celebrations occurring at our sister school John Collet in Sydney. Our week at Ficino has been very full with Years 5 and 6 on Tuesday afternoons and Years 7 and 8 on Wednesday afternoons going to TriStar Gymnasium where they are receiving rigorous and challenging coaching for an hour on the equipment there. They will continue this for three weeks. On Wednesday the school was treated to a display presented by the Meccano Guild of many wonderful creations, both static and moving. Each class had 30 minutes to explore the models and it was particularly delightful to witness the engaging conversations held between Ficino pupils and the mostly sectarians who form this branch of the Meccano Guild. Years One to Four performed beautifully at Eden Village on Thursday morning and this morning, Year Eight as part of their Geography study, have gone to two dairy farms in Karaka to look at their milking operations.
