School Newsletter Week 2, Term 4, 2015

The inaugural Ficino School Art Auction last Saturday proved to be a splendid occasion. The Friends of Ficino decorated the venue beautifully and created a very welcoming atmosphere. There was clearly a lot of work put in to making the event professional and inclusive. We are also grateful to the School of Philosophy for generously allowing us to use the building. The atmosphere is quite special in a place that is primarily used for meditation and study.

Over sixty people attended including parents, grandparents, teachers, board members, members of the School of Philosophy and other friends of the school. It was also delightful to see parents of some of our graduates coming back to support the school. They and their children still feel very much a part of the school community.

Thank you to all those who worked so hard to put this event together, to those who very generously donated pieces of art and other items to be auctioned and finally to all those who attended and gave so generously on the evening. The event raised in excess of $10,000 towards the 2016 Renaissance Trip and drama department upgrade.
