Ficino School Letter Week 9, Term 2, 2016

The term has finished with a most uplifting final assembly. The building has been filled with fine words during our annual Speech Competition and the winners in each year group presented their pieces in Assembly this morning. Class One’s invocation seems fitting words to reproduce in this final message of the term.

May the Sun bless us! May the Night bless us! May the Eye bless us! May Might bless us! May Speech bless us! May the All-prevalent bless us! Welcome Spirit! Welcome Life, Face of Spirit! Truth shall be on my lips and truth in my thoughts. May truth protect me; protect my teacher; protect us both. May peace and peace and peace be everywhere.

We say farewell to Gap Year student Richard Calver who has been with us for two terms. He has been an outstanding example for the students and excellent company for all. His final message for the students was to do what they love most, and not to sit around – just get out and do stuff; Words which exemplify his own approach to life. Richard heads back to England to attend Oxford University, where he will study Classics at Christchurch College.
