Ficino School Letter Week 8, Term 3, 2017

This week has been enlivened by the senior Shakespeare production of The Tempest.  As always, every student in Year 7 and 8 is involved and some of the main characters have two different students performing on alternate days.  These plays are a phenomenal undertaking, but as anyone who has been to a performance will attest, of enormous value. They bring the School community together in uninhibited pursuit of excellence.  The students rise and rise, work through doubts and fears and emerge with a confidence and maturity which dumbfounds the audience. Here are some of the accolades that have passed across my desk this week: –

“At the end of the night, I was left astounded and at a loss for the right superlatives, such was the calibre of the performance.”

“The support from parents, friends of the School and family was tangible.  It was a wonderful night for both of us and served to deepen my respect for everything Ficino School embodies.”

“I brought a guest with me last night who has recently arrived from Washington D.C.  Jane works in education as a behavioural specialist and I wanted her to experience Ficino.  She was truly amazed with what the staff, students and parents achieved and commented on how friendly everyone was and what a lovely school community we have.”
