Ficino School Letter Week 6, Term 4, 2016

We have had a number of special assemblies this week. On Monday, Class 3 performed a recitation of “Ye spotted snakes” from A Midsummer Night’s Dream and our Year 8 students with their Art Teacher Mrs Joass, presented four beautiful portraits of the saints that denote each of the Houses at Ficino School. These have been placed in the foyer of the school and were drawn and painted by our Year 8 students. They have been working hard behind he scenes for over two terms to bring this project to fruition. All the portraits have been worked on by all the students and they will be a splendid legacy for them to leave behind when they depart at the end of this year.

On Thursday and Friday, we heard from eight more of our Year 7 and 8 students about the great wonders of the world that they visited on their recent Renaissance Trip – Hadrian’s Villa, the Pantheon and the Colloseum in Rome, and Stonehenge and the Tower of London in England. They were all well-researched, informative and entertaining talks. There are four presentations to come, next week and the week after.

Use of Footpath at Dismissal Time

If you are collecting your child at dismissal time and have walked into the school, please use the new footpath leading to the Preschool to exit the property through the Preschool gate, instead of walking along the driveway with the cars. This should provide more safety for you and your children.
