Ficino School was able to implement their ‘Covid Resurgence Plan’ immediately following the government’s announcement that Auckland was moving to Level 3 at midday on Wednesday 12 August.

Confirmation that Auckland would remain at Level 3 until midnight Wednesday 26 August has meant that study plans will continue to roll out for all students.  This ensures learning is not compromised for students based at home or for the school-based children of essential workers.

Teachers have tailored their teaching programmes with students being taught via a combination of:

  • Zoom
  • Online learning programmes
  • Google Classroom
  • Worksheets

Students are also receiving Art and PE tasks to complete.

All students receive a daily teaching programme via their Ficino School email address.  In addition to lessons, this also includes sessions when they meet online with their class and teacher.

As a school with a strong values-based learning environment, this latest challenge gives both students and staff the opportunity to use resilience, respect, courage and responsibility.
