The students of Class 3 relished the opportunity to camp at a family farm in Kumeu this term.
Exploring the bush, walking on windswept Muriwai beach to see the Gannets and toasting marshmallows by the fire before heading off to sleep in tents were only a part of this amazing experience.
The students had an exceptional opportunity to experience true country living. Gathering fresh warm eggs from under a chicken, getting up close to the friendly farm dog and patting a horse and alpaca are experiences which will be treasured.
The students have a wealth of information for their story writing. Highlights included seeing the wool from the alpaca being spun into yarn, exploring ponds and streams and running down the incredible black sand dunes of our beautiful West Coast.
Many thanks go to all who contributed to make this wonderful experience possible.
