Ficino School Letter Week 7, Term 3, 2017

Grandparents morning at Ficino is always a delight, and 2017 was no exception.  The hall was filled with around 70 visitors who were entertained with speeches, music, dance and drama.  This was a wonderful opportunity for those who entered the Music Competition to perform again in front of a fresh and appreciative audience.  Parents of the School provided a wonderful morning tea which was beautifully served by our Year 5 students.  This year for the first time our Head Boy addressed the grandparents.  He wrote the speech himself and spoke with confidence and sincerity about the strength children gain from the love and support of their grandparents.  Vishwas also spoke about the strong relationship between junior and senior students at Ficino School with particular reference to the help Year 7 students give to the junior classes and also the buddy reading that takes place at House Meetings.

The Senior Production of The Tempest starts next Wednesday and the senior students have set up camp in the School hall this week and next to put the finishing touches to the performance.  I know the tickets are selling fast and we look forward to seeing you all there.

Ficino School Library – Book Donations

Thank you very much to our grandparents and parents for their support with book donations for the School library at Grandparents Morning on Thursday.  There are still some books left that we would like to purchase for the children.  If you are interested, you can come and choose from the book list which is at reception.  Thank you.
