Ficino School Letter Week 10, Term 2, 2017

Mr Crompton is away at a conference of the Heads of our World-Wide Family of Schools which takes place at Lucca, Italy. As there are some results to share, I have decided to send a newsletter this last week of term.

May all the children have a well-deserved rest during the three weeks’ holiday, such that they come back to school refreshed and keen for the third term.

Speech Competition Results

We were very fortunate to have Alexandra Birchfield in as our guest judge for the Speech Competition this year. She is an ex-student, a past winner of the Speech Cup, and a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (one of the foremost acting schools in the UK) where she completed a Bachelor of Dramatic Arts in performance. Alexandra is currently studying for a post-graduate degree in linguistics at Victoria University. I am pleased to say she was delighted with the standard of the speech she heard, she thoroughly enjoyed listening to the participants.

Many thanks to all those who took part. Many thanks also to all the parents teachers who helped prepare and guide all the pupils in this event.
