Ficino School Letter Week 5, Term 4, 2016

As you are all aware Ficino Preschool received its first students during the last school holidays with three children attending on the first day. On Monday we will have eight students on the roll, and we hope to attract more families at our Open Morning on Saturday 26th November. The children that are there have settled in very well and are enjoying positive learning experiences. The principle of love and play for this age group is very evident in the joyful faces of the children and in the interaction between children and teachers. Parents speak very highly of the atmosphere and rich programmes the children are participating in. It is a unique environment and the high teacher to pupil ratio will give their chidlren an excellent foundation before their transition to school. The four year olds that start Ficino School next year have begun a gentle ‘get ready for school’ programme by joining the New Entrants for occasional classes.

Special Assembly on Monday 14th November

On Monday morning during the school assembly Mrs Joass and the Year 8 students will present the large portraits they have painted representing the four school houses – St Francis, St Clare, St Gregory and St Teresa.  The students have been working on these pieces for the last few months and they are a wonderful representation of the Saints.  The paintings will be displayed in the school foyer for everyone to enjoy.
