Ficino School Letter Week 6, Term 3, 2016

Over the last couple of weeks the students have been reminded to consider how best to put our fine School Values into practice.  To make them more than just a collection of five words, the students are encouraged to bring them into their own lives through intelligent inquiry. To help with this, each child has been given a reminder card which has a series of three questions associated with each value.  For example our first School Value is to Speak the Truth and the inquiry questions associated with this are,  Is it true?  Is it kind, pleasant and beneficial? Is it uplifting?  These follow in the tradition of Socrates and if everyone could remember to ask such questions before they spoke, our society would no doubt benefit.

These cards were also produced to provide help for parents and friends of Ficino School to share the essence of what the school stands for.  If you would like to collect some for yourself or to pass on, please take them from the stand in the office.

In their respective Giant Slalom events Boston Chandler was 7th, Amelia Alston 19th and Mia Fraser 21st.  Standout individual performances came from Dina Ehsankya who placed third in the Year 1-4 girls Skier Cross event and fourth in the Giant Slalom and Brooke Chandler who gained second place in the Year 5/6 girls Giant Slalom and first place in the Skier Cross.
Congratulations to all of the skiers who represented the school well, conducting themselves with pride and skiing with boldness and determination.
