Notice from the Chairman – 20 June 2014

Board members would like to thank all those parents who attended the ‘Meet the Board’ social function on Monday evening. We greatly appreciated the opportunity to engage in conversation with you and to share some information. A summary of the history of strong voluntary support that the school has enjoyed since our foundation was presented and we outlined our aspirations and plans for the future growth and development of Ficino School. The Principal described the vital importance of the intermediate school years and three important offerings available to our senior students.

Your enthusiasm and support for Ficino School is greatly appreciated and it was a delight to meet socially with those that were able attend.

Traffic

In order not to have queues of traffic running down View Road at the end of the day, please adhere to the following procedures:-

1.  Do not get out of your car for any length of time, e.g. to speak to other parents or the teacher whilst in the traffic queue.
2.  On Thursdays, please do not join the traffic queue until 3pm unless you are a parent of a child dismissed at 2.45pm for hockey practice.  If you arrive early you may park either behind the villa or on the street.
3.  There is no parking in the spaces around the fountain area, unless directed by a staff member.
4.   Please drive as far forward as possible when you get to the dismissal area (right up to the start of the angle parking) to allow a few children at a time to move to waiting cars.

School Tour – Thursday 26th June – 9.15am

Farewell Assembly for Mrs Milne – Wednesday 2nd July at 8.30am

We will be holding a farewell assembly for Mrs Milne on Wednesday 2nd July at 8.30am.  All parents are warmly invited to attend.

Mrs McOnie’s Speech & Drama Students’ Presentation – Sun 22nd June – 3.15pm

On Sunday 22nd June at 3.15pm in the school hall, Mrs McOnie’s speech and drama students will be presenting a workshop/recital, showcasing some of the work they have been doing in Term One and Two. Ficino parents are very welcome to attend this event. Please reply to Mrs McOnie at duchesne@xtra.co.nz if you would like to come to this recital.

Friends of Ficino Kids Movie Night – ‘Brave’  – Saturday 28th June at 4pm – 7pm

Please bring your beanbags, cushions and tartan rugs and snuggle in for a great night’s entertainment.
Children can come along in fancy dress if they wish… theme is “Scotland the Brave”.
Bring your coins for entry to the Witch’s Potion Shack, Sausage Sizzle, popcorn and much more.
Refreshments will be available for purchase by any thirsty mums and dads.

Uniform Shop  – Open on Tuesdays

The School Uniform shop will be open on Tuesdays from 2.30 until 3.15.
